01What is Nine Lives?+
Nine Lives is a proposed peer-to-peer Tezos ritual. One tez opens nine doors: 0.40 tez goes to one peer you choose, 0.025 tez goes to each of eight peers in a public rotation, and 0.40 tez feeds a shared reservoir called the Giant Kitty.
02Where does one tez go?+
Exactly 0.40 tez goes to the chosen peer, exactly 0.20 tez is divided into eight transfers of 0.025 tez, and exactly 0.40 tez enters the Kitty. Network fees would be additional and are not taken from the one-tez split.
03How does the Giant Kitty grow?+
Each Pounce adds 0.40 tez. Once a week the Kitty releases 5% of its pre-Purr balance and retains the rest, so the modeled recurrence is K next = 0.95 × (K + 0.40 × weekly Pounces). At mutez precision, the Purr rounds down and the remainder stays in the Kitty.
04Who receives a weekly Purr?+
The next 20 eligible wallets in the same public, least-recently-paid rotation share it. There is no jackpot or secret draw, and each destination is knowable before the Purr is called.
05Do I need to contribute to receive?+
No. Receiving never requires a prior contribution, and contributing does not improve queue position, create odds, or increase a future payment. There are no recruitment or referral rewards.
06What makes a peer eligible?+
The proposed model uses a published seasonal roster, one eligible wallet per person, duplicate resistance, clear removal and appeal rules, and a visible last-paid position. The roster on this prototype is fictional and contains no usable wallet addresses.
07Is the Kitty yield?+
No. The Kitty only contains tez explicitly routed into it, less tez already distributed. It creates no return, guarantees no payment, and can shrink when Purrs exceed new inflows.
08Is Nine Lives live on Tezos?+
No. This page is view-only: no wallet, funds, token, custody, contract, or Tezos operation is active. A live pooled system would require legal, operational, recipient-control, incident-response, accounting, and independent-audit gates first.
